Chris Barnhart received his BSCE from the University of Houston in 1981, and his Masters of Civil Engineering from Rice University in 1985. He has specialized in bridge design since joining the Highway Department in 1984. While there he designed / supervised design of 58 bridges with an estimated cost of $40 million and a total deck area of 1,110,924 sq. ft. In addition to the bridges he worked on for TxDOT, Chris has also designed / supervised design of approximately 30 bridges since 1999.
